Greg Leonard
Account Executive, Industrial Networking & OT Cyber Security, Cisco Systems UKGreg Leonard helps transport operators and local authorities build the operational technology (OT) networks that keep Scotland moving. For the past 10 years at Cisco, he has worked with organisations across the UK and Ireland in roads, highways, rail and public transport. He helps them connect and protect the critical systems that run everywhere from the roadside and trackside to trains, buses and the control room.
Greg specialises in industrial, ruggedised networking and OT cyber security, with a growing focus on AI in OT networks. He helps operators harness edge compute, machine vision and predictive analytics on resilient, open standards-based infrastructure, where the network itself defends against increasingly AI-driven cyber threats. His approach is practical and outcome-focused: making sure today's deployments are ready for tomorrow's use cases rather than becoming isolated islands of technology.
Greg brings more than two decades of technology experience and, having made Scotland his home for many years, has a genuine personal stake in seeing its transport network become safer, smarter and more resilient. At Road Expo Scotland, he'll show how a connected, protected and AI-ready network gives operators the flexibility to deliver today's priorities and the foundation for tomorrow's.

10-Minute Tech Talk: Connected, Protected, AI-Ready Roads
A 10-minute look at the network behind the roadside: fast and secure enough to carry every use case, able to defend itself at machine speed, and ready to power the next generation of AI applications.
- A reliable, open standards-based network: the difference between isolated deployments and infrastructure built to absorb new use cases as they arrive
- Defending at machine speed: as cyber attackers use AI to compress the gap between a vulnerability and its exploitation, the network itself becomes the defence — asset visibility, segmentation to limit the blast radius, and zero-trust access so the roadside keeps running even when one part is compromised
- An AI-ready roadside: edge compute turning the network into a platform for machine vision, predictive maintenance, adaptive traffic management and the AI use cases still to come
