Philip McKay
Vice Chair, Scottish Collaboration of Transportation Specialists (SCOTS)Philip has worked in local government since 1991, primarily focusing on the management and maintenance of public infrastructure, including roads, bridges, harbours, and quarries. He also contributed to strategic transportation projects, such as the Local Transport Strategy and pan-European initiatives. In his current role with Aberdeenshire Council, Philip leads the team responsible for roads and infrastructure maintenance, overseeing both technical staff and a direct labour organisation.
His remit also includes managing the council’s fleet service, which supports all departments. Philip has actively supported SCOTS, serving as Vice Chair and Chair of the Liaison Committee, and is currently one of its Vice Chairs. He is a graduate of the University of Glasgow, a Chartered Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.
