David Jackson

Principal Carbon Consultant, SWECO UK

David spent seven years as a Weather Forecaster at the Met Office where he saw first-hand the impact climate change was having on our environment. Rather than predicting worsening events, he decided to change paths and do something to mitigate the impact of climate change.

David undertook an MSc in Carbon Management and a PhD researching carbon management tools for the built environment and how to embed carbon management practices within organisations, both at the University of Edinburgh.

Since then he has worked for Costain and Sweco UK to embed PAS 2080 and carbon management practices within projects, and support organisations developing strategies and working towards achieving net zero targets. He is a Chartered environmentalist and Member of the Institute of Environmental Measurement and Accounting and Associate Member of the Institute of Civil Engineering
