GRP POLYbridge Boardwalk installed for access and walkway around an existing woods and wetland. Used extensively by local villagers, it was important that any product offered safe access for all, and also had a long life-span with zero maintenance for over 60 years. POLYbridge Boardwalks were installed with a full GRP sub-structure and GRP planks that have the feel and look of wood. The inner core is manufactured from 100% recycled PET bottles. The slip resistance top surface is Resin infused into the plank and has a double Layer. It isnt "bonded" or "glued" to the surface of the planks and offers class leading wear and slip resistance. Do not confuse this with a 100% recycled Thermoset plastic that will warp and bend over time and under heat and sunlight. It has integral lateral strength by virtue of the GRP substructure and GRP surface finish, allowing for longer lengths and free standing bridge construction. Indistinguishable from wood POLYbridge™ has the same feel to the touch and different wood colours are available. POLYbridge™ can be designed at various lengths as a bridge or even as a Boardwalk with handrail to replace existing rotten timber right of way bridges. There are many benefits around the adoption of POLYbridge™ on right of way bridge schemes. A heavy timber equivalent normally causes many logistical issues as right of way bridges are typically in very rural areas, whereas the POLYbridge™ can be carried easily to site. POLYplank™ is a long life (life expectancy in excess of 80 years), composite GRP flooring system. Planks are manufactured from structural GRP with a recycled bottle core and have an 8mm thick highly wear resistant gritted surface. The surface is very low maintenance unlike timber planks which constantly provide a challenge to keep them non-slip and also are very prone to rotting. This product does not deform and deflect like 100% recycled plastic materials, has an integral strength and is available in a range of colours and surface patterns. POLYplanks™ have been used extensively in resurfacing rotten walkways, decking, promenades and bridge decks.
