The Institute of Asphalt Technology
The Institute is the professional body for persons working in the field of asphalt technology and for those interested in all aspects of the manufacture, placing, technology and uses of materials containing asphalt or bitumen. The Institute was founded in 1966 as a learned society by a group of far-sighted practitioners in the belief that there was a need for sharing technical information and for setting and protecting standards. To this end a professional exam moderated by the Institute was established during 1967. Membership of the Institute is open to all sectors of the industry, from quarries, manufacturing plants, laboratories, airport and highway surfacing, to building and construction mastic and from the client or architectural and consultant engineering sectors.
TheRichWorks.co.uk was the vision of Susanne Ingham and founded in 2008. As a highly experienced industry professional, Susanne amassed an enviable network of both public and private sector contacts. Through her extensive knowledge of the sector, she identified a real need for a single online source of construction and highways information which could cater for the needs of private enterprise, government organisations, industry professionals and even students or those considering entering into a new career path. From there TheRichWorks.co.uk was born - an independent, non-competitive site that provides everything you need to know about construction and highways in the UK.
