Speaker : Martin Polland
Martin is a Chartered Civil Engineer and is employed as Roads
Area Manager for South Lanarkshire Council. He is also currently
the Chair of Institute of Highway Engineers in Scotland, undertakes
professional reviews at all levels for the IHE and serves on the
IHE National Council, while being a member of the Institute of
Asphalt Technology. Martin has been employed by South Lanarkshire
Council for some 15 years and the project now being discussed was
as a direct result of site investigations on a major resurfacing
works leading to a world heritage site.
Away from the day job Martin is a keen walker, hill walker and
part time football coach at youth level.
