Speaker : Andrew Davidson


Andrew is National Operations Manager in Transport Scotland's Trunk Road Network Operations Systems and Impacts team. Andrew leads teams with responsibility for network resilience, incident response and the management of Transport Scotland's ITS systems and services. This includes the operation of the Traffic Scotland ITS and Traffic & Travel Information service. 

He is a Chartered Engineer and Transport Planning Professional, a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT), currently sits on CIHT Council and is vice-chair of their Learned Society and Technical Strategy Board. A committed advocate of CPD, he considers it key to the ongoing success of the profession.  

Andrew was previously Transport Scotland's Head of Standards and has worked in the Major Transport Infrastructure Projects and Strategy & Investment Directorates. 

Prior to joining the Scottish Government in 2008, Andrew spent 24 years in local authority roads services in Ayrshire, principally in the field of traffic engineering. He began his career in 1982 in civil engineering contracting with W&J Barr and Sons (Scotland) Ltd.
